Grade 5/6December 4: In order to continue "chunking" our protect into manageable pieces, students are to have the good copy of their questions for the country project complete for Friday, the 13th. Class time will be given; however, to ensure completion, home time may be required. If students are not permitted to have enough screen time to complete on office 365 at home, a tidy and organize.d write up is just as great. With the exception of those who are entitled due to a learning plan, students are not permitted to use spell check. To turn off, simply switch language in settings.
Getting together with partners to start planning and creating the map, flag and presentation components is a good idea. While we hoped projects would be presented before the break, we realize this may not be possible. Those who do finish will be given the opportunity to share. More concrete dates will be posted as progress unfolds. Students DO NO have to complete pastel portion of art. Please be sure it comes to school tomorrow.
November 13: Students are to complete their "one pager" good copy for MONDAY, November 18th. The hard work has already been done in class. Students are to just transfer their ideas in a creative way onto their template. Rubric file is available.

Grade 6DEC 11: We are working on descriptive paragraph writing. While focusing on word choice, paragraph formation and proper use of punctuation, we are describing our hands and all the things they can do. As a fun part of the activity, I have asked students to take a photo of their hands doing or holding something that they are going to describe. Plain, empty hands work too. I know it is last minute, but if I can receive them all by tomorrow evening, I can order them over the weekend and have them for Monday. Having the visual alongside the written will make for a beautiful final project. Thanks for your participation.

OCTOBER 23: Students have been working very hard for over two weeks to complete the good copies of their "published poetry package." As indicated on the checklist and rubric, visual elements must be included. Most students have finished the writing portion of their work in class. It is now to be finished at home. Students have until Monday, October 28th to hand their package in. The writing portion must be completed independently as it is a culminating task for assessment. They are coming along beautifully; I can't wait to read them all!
