Colour Poetry Checklist. Reviewing this with your child is a great way to open discussion about what they are doing in class and where they could use extra help at home.

WRITER'S NOTEBOOK- Students have been asked to bring in a writer's notebook. It is best that it has somewhat of a hard cover. It DOES NOT need to be fancy or expensive. There are great ones from the dollar store. These typically have black and one spots on them. Along with the notebook itself, I have requested that students bring in items that represent who they are to decorate the notebook (pictures, stickers, event tickets/stubs, inspiring quotes and words etc.). The idea behind a writer's notebook is that when you personalize something, you make it your own and take pride in it. This often translates to enthusiasm, which we hope to foster here this year. Below is my personal example. We will begin on TUESDAY. Please have supplies in by Tuesday. :) If you have a difficult time finding a notebook or do not have the means, please contact me directly and I will help.
